Awards

The River Common has received multiple state, national and international recognitions for its design and use, winning the 2011 platinum design award by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; Waterfront Center Honor Award, 2010; NCAC Theodore G. Daniels Community Development Award, 2011; and Happenings Magazine 2009 Top Destination for Scenic Photography, 2009.

International

  • Waterfront Center, Honor Award. 2010.

The River Common was recently awarded a Project Honor Award from the Waterfront Center, beating out waterfront projects in major cities such as Chicago and San Francisco and in nations as far flung as the United Kingdom and China.

State/National

  • Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Platinum Design Award. 2011

The River Common won the Diamond Award during the 2011 Commonwealth Awards Ceremony & 10,000 Friends of Pennsylvania Fund. This award is given to organizations that engage in responsible and efficient land use practices.

Regional/Corporate

  • NCAC Theodore G. Daniels Community Development Award 2011.

The River Common won NCAC’s top award for its events programming season at the River Common Park. The NCAC Community Awards Program is an opportunity to highlight the achievements of non-profit organizations and community groups in our region. The awards ceremony highlights programs and projects that are making a positive impact in communities throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.
